In view of this, Merck and Daiichi Sankyo jointly developed the first-in-class HER3-targeted DXd antibody–drug conjugate patritumab deruxtecan, which in the HERTHENA-Lung02 phase 3 trial demonstrated statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival vs. platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced or metastatic EGFR-mutated NSCLC.
