[18], TQ (21.71 μM in HCT116 and 20.53 μM in SW480) inhibited glucose fermentation, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production, and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) generation, effectively disrupting the Warburg effect, a phenomenon where cancer cells shift from oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis; this modulation of glucose metabolism involved the suppression of HK2.
