Since the efficacy of sorafenib, a molecular targeted agent (MTA), for unresectable HCC was first reported in 2008 [9], systemic therapy for HCC has progressed with the development of MTAs that target multiple kinases related to angiogenesis and cancer proliferation, including the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling pathway.
