HIF1A and ischemia: A detailed examination of HIF1α expression and the metabolic processes in the developing brain mediated by this protein, alongside the activity of glucocorticoid penetration, corticosterone receptor expression, glucocorticoid-dependent transcription, and the dynamics of enzymes involved in local glucocorticoid synthesis and degradation under the influence of maternal hypoxia and placental ischemia, reveals both general oxygen-dependent effects on the developing brain and significant differences in the stability of observed changes.
