Nevertheless, the rs6136 G allele was significantly associated with a CVD and/or metabolic disease history (GG/GT vs. TT; χ2, p = 0.018), aligning with the literature findings, that link this allele with both higher risk of development of metabolic and CVD (including CAT) and lower sSELP levels [20,66,68,69]. This evidence concerns the gene CAT and metabolic disease.
