Given that the WNT–β-catenin pathway is a marker for identifying CMS-2 subtype CRC patients who generally have a relatively better prognosis among all CRC patients [39], the induction of non-canonical WNT pathways (i.e., β-catenin-independent WNT pathways) by the TCF12–MALAT1 alliance may be related to the poorer prognosis of patients.
