Notably, enzymes such as ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) citrate carrier (CIC), NADPH oxidase (NOX) [62], acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACC) [63], and fatty acid synthase (FAS) [64] play crucial roles in driving pro-inflammatory response and were found to be overexpressed in HCC cells [4,65,66] (Figure 1).
