In this context, we recommend further analysis of the following genes, as reported in Table 5: PCDH9 (Protocadherin 9), also previously found to be associated with autism [50]; TRPC4 (Transient Receptor Potential Cation Channel Subfamily C Member 4), also previously associated with autism [51]; and TMPRSS4 (Transmembrane Serine Protease 4), also previously found to be potentially associated with autism [52]. Here, TRPC4 is linked to autism.
