This subtype of CCA is characterized by an enrichment of the extracellular matrix remodeling and angiogenesis components and better response to ICI treatment, as it presents high immune checkpoint expression levels such as PD-1, PD-L1, and CTLA-4, and a greater infiltration of immunosuppressive cells such as M2-type macrophages. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and cholangiocarcinoma.
