Although some L. plantarum strains have been shown to exert anti-obesity effects in animal models of obesity [20,21,22], LP1008 had no impact on weight gain, but reduced serum insulin and TC levels, which is similar to the findings of Salaj et al. [23] and could be partially explained by the greater fat absorption ability of some probiotic strains as reported by Yin et al. [24]. This evidence concerns the gene INS and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
