CCL2 and atherosclerosis: IL-33 receptor knockout mice (APOEST2 DKO mice) fed with a high-fat diet also showed increased levels of saturated fatty acid (myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid), inflammatory cytokine-related genes (Mcp1, Ccl2, IL-1b, Ifng, and Tnfa), increased M1/M2 macrophage ratio, and decreased type 2 innate lymphocytes (ILC2), which exhibit anti-inflammatory and anti-atherosclerosis properties in the aorta region [117].
