SOD was comparatively lower (1.23 ± 0.00) (p < 0.05) in the colitis group vs. the normal group, whereas treatment with either honey or NSO alone significantly improved SOD activity (2.43 ± 0.03 vs. 3.32 ± 0.00) (p < 0.05). The gene discussed is SOD1; the disease is colitis.
