CRP and acquired polycythemia vera: Although there were no differences in the liver transaminase and C-reactive protein levels in women who developed bleeding PV, vs those who did not, those who had bleeding PV were more likely (OR= 1.92, 95% CI = 0.91 to 4.04, p – 0.14) to have a platelet count of <50,000 cells/mm3 (50%) than those who had no PV bleeding (34.6%).
