CXCL8 and cancer: After ICD inducer treatment, the dying cancer cells promote DAMP responses, and, in turn, they release cytokines that activate the immune response, such as C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10; IL8) and interleukin 6 (IL6) (6, 7); additionally, IFNG (IFN-γ) is released by T helper 1 (Th1) cells and CTLs and interleukin 17A (IL17A; IL17) is released by Th17 cells (8).
