Lp(a) is a distinctive hepatic lipoprotein (Kamstrup, 2021), and there is evidence indicating a high correlation between serum Lp(a) levels and the severity of AD (Larsson et al., 2020; Merched et al., 2000), which suggests that clinical measurement of Lp(a) could be utilized for assessing the risk and severity of AD. Here, LPA is linked to Alzheimer disease.
