In a study by Pan et al., HOXD10 was found to activate expression of miR-7 and IGFBP3 and to lead to a biologically inhibitory phenotype, suggesting a potential therapeutic role in colorectal cancer and demonstrating that HOXD10 is frequently methylated and silenced and contributes to development of this type of cancer.25 This evidence concerns the gene HOXD10 and colorectal cancer.
