The study of skin aging has delved deeply into its molecular mechanisms, like the oxidative stress, loss of collagen and elastin, the alterations of cell connections (Hensley and Floyd, 2002; Kirschner and Brandner, 2012; Zorina et al., 2022) and the IL-17-expressing T helper cells-mediated chronic inflammation skin aging (Solá et al., 2023), paving the way for potential interventions to decelerate this process. Here, IL17A is linked to skin aging.
