GAB2, found to be amplified in 30.6% of acral melanomas and 17.1% of mucosal melanomas,40 has been shown to induce tumour angiogenesis by regulating hypoxia inducible factor 1 subunit alpha (HIF‐1α) and VEGF expressions in NRAS‐driven melanoma.41 This evidence concerns the gene GAB2 and melanoma.
