In addition to histologic classification, further testing for rearrangements of MYC, BCL-2, and BCL-6 is important, as these genetic alterations are associated with poor prognosis [1,6], particularly the “double-hit” MYC/BCL-2, currently classified by the WHO-HAEM5 as high-grade B-cell lymphoma [5]. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
