CKLF and atherosclerosis: Chemokine-like factor 1 (CKLF1) and chemokine receptor-8 (CCR8) have been shown to play an essential role in the migration and proliferation of VSMCs in vascular inflammation (Haque et al., 2004; Zhang et al., 2013) (Figure 3), and inhibition of CKLF1 can be used as a therapeutic target for the prevention of atherosclerosis.
