Co-cultures of MCS-treated RAW264.7 cells with 4T1, mouse melanoma cell line B16, mouse liver cancer cell line Hepa1-6, mouse colon cancer cell line Colon2-6, mouse kidney cancer cell line RenCa, and mouse ovarian surface epithelial cell line ID8, showed significantly higher numbers of GFP-positive CD11b-positive cells, indicating increased cancer cell phagocytosis compared with that of control-treated RAW264.7 cells (P < 0.05 for 4T1, B16, and RenCa, P < 0.01 for Hepa1-6, Colon26, and ID8, Figure 1G). This evidence concerns the gene ITGAM and malignant colon neoplasm.
