Speers et al. reported that maternal embryonic leucine zipper kinase (MELK) ex-pression was significantly higher in breast cancer tissues compared to normal tissue and in TNBC compared to non-TNBC tissue, and the authors reported that MELK RNA and protein expression significantly correlated with radioresistance in BC cell lines (Xie et al., 2023). This evidence concerns the gene MELK and breast cancer.
