In younger patients, females, those with lower overall number of medications, patients with atrial fibrillation, those without MI or Parkinson’s disease, those without beta-blockers or mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, and in new users of at least one of the three analysed medication classes, increased attention should be paid to improving their persistence with the combination of medications in order to ensure successful secondary prevention of PAD. This evidence concerns the gene NR3C2 and atrial fibrillation.
