Transverse aortic constriction (TAC), an experimental model of pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy and HF, was associated with a reduction of cardiac FTO levels, while FTO overexpression was shown to attenuate the cardiac dysfunction following TAC (Zhang et al., 2021a; Li W. et al., 2022), particularly by regulating glucose uptake and glycolysis (Zhang et al., 2021a). This evidence concerns the gene FTO and hydrops fetalis.
