Subsequently, we analyzed the correlation between the SAE1 expression level and clinicopathologic characteristics (cutoff value 11.2) in 954 breast cancer patients (data from the TCGA database) and found that SAE1 overexpression was significantly associated with the tumor size (P < 0.001), tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging (P = 0.002), ER (P < 0.001), PR (P < 0.001), HER2 (P < 0.001), and whether or not it was TNBC (P < 0.001) (Table 1).
