These results were later extended into the studies of the solid tumors, where it was shown that high levels of CD47 are associated with disease progression and/or poor patient prognosis, including epithelial (breast, ovarian, colon, and others) (8–10), mesenchymal (sarcomas) (11, 12), and neuronal/neural crest (GBM, Neuroblastoma, Melanoma) derived malignancies (2, 13).
