While both Trovan and compound 12 dose‐dependently reduced the colitis scores in DSS‐treated mice, compound 12‐treated mice showed significantly lowered colitis scores than Trovan‐treated mice at 15 mg kg−1 (Figure 6E), suggesting that the newly identified PANX1 inhibitors might represent an alternative, proof‐of‐principle therapeutic approach to reduce colitis severity. This evidence concerns the gene PANX1 and colitis.
