CDH11 and neoplasm: Studies have shown that CDH11 is widely expressed during embryonic development, however, its expression is virtually absent in adult cells.[46] In tumor tissues, CDH11 is expressed in CAFs and certain epithelial cells, and is associated with the malignant phenotype of tumors.[47, 48, 49] Therefore, a targeted therapy against CDH11 could impede tumor progression without affecting normal cell tissues.
