Table 6 listed the top 10 most frequently cited references, and the network view of the co-occurrence analysis of these references was presented (Figure 5A) “Mechanisms linking obesity to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes” was the most cited, with 29 citations, followed by “Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes-2011 American Diabetes Association” with 27 citations. The third most frequently cited article was “The hormone resistin links obesity to diabetes,” with 26 citations. The top 25 references with the highest burst strength were shown (Figure 5B). Here, RETN is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
