EGFR and neoplasm: The treatment landscape of NSCLC has evolved recently with advances in molecular profiling especially next-generation sequencing leading to the discovery of treatable driver oncogenes and personalized medicine based on individual tumor genetic changes.4 The identification of actionable genomic alterations, such as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) fusions, has led to the development and approval of targeted therapies that inhibit these oncogenic pathways.
