Tuberculosis (OR = 5.3 [95% CI: 2.1–13.1] p ˂ 0.01), a WHO stage III or IV (OR = 3.0 [95% CI: 1.2–7.5] p = 0.02), altered consciousness (OR = 21.7 [95% CI: 2.4–87.7] p ˂ 0.01), seizures (p ˂ 0.01), the presence of other neurological symptoms, including neck stiffness (p ˂ 0.01), and a CD4+ cell count between 100 and 199/μL (OR = 2.3 [95% CI: 1.04–5.1] p = 0.04) were associated with the presence of urine CrAg. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and tuberculosis.
