In our study, we observed a significantly higher value of anti-DSG1 antibodies in patients with PF than in patients with PV, which could underscore the importance of these antibodies in PF pathogenesis, as PF patients mainly present antibodies against DSG1, in comparison to PV patients, who exhibit additional antibodies against DSG3 [19,20]. The gene discussed is DSG1; the disease is acquired polycythemia vera.
