The TOR signaling pathway regulator-like protein (TIPRL), upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma cells, inhibits MAP2K7-JNK activation through binding of TIPRL to MAP2K7 and protein phosphatase type 2A (PP2Ac), causing dephosphorylation of MAP2K7 and preventing TRAIL-induced apoptosis (11). Here, TIPRL is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
