NGF is a neurotrophic factor involved in the regulation of neuronal functions through the binding of NGFR.[80] Evidence has shown that NGF can also be synthesized and secreted by stromal cells of the tumor environment, such as stellate cells.[81, 82] We found that NGF induced TRAF4 phosphorylation at S242 by AKT, which promoted its interaction with 14‐3‐3θ to transport TRAF4 into the nucleus where it interacts with c‐Jun to regulate IL‐8 transcription. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and neoplasm.
