Research has indicated that in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of patients with PD, there is increased gene expression of NLRP3, ASC, and caspase-1, as well as elevated protein levels of NLRP3, caspase-1, and IL-1β, indicating NLRP3 inflammasome activation in the PBMCs of PD patients[84].
