XCR1 and osteoporosis: G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) are important and necessary for regulating osteoblast differentiation and bone remodeling, and related genes of GPCR family could be the pivotal targets for the clinical treatment of osteoporosis.[7, 8] Generally, drug targets with genetic support are twice as likely to succeed in clinical trials.[9] Specifically, GWASs have identified some non‐coding susceptibility single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located near X‐C motif chemokine receptor 1 (XCR1), which is associated with BMD.
