The protein expression levels of collagen‐related molecules in both HCC and ICC showed a significant positive correlation with YAP1, providing protein‐level evidence that changes in extracellular collagen content (ECM stiffness) could affect the activity of YAP1 and subsequently affect transcriptional activity in primary liver cancer cells (Figure 1I). This evidence concerns the gene YAP1 and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
