Accordingly, DCs from this cluster were characterized by high expression of genes associated with a pro-inflammatory Th2 response to worm infections, such as Pdcd1lg2 (which encodes PD-L2) (40–42), Stat5a (43), Ccl24 (a chemotactic factor for eosinophils and lymphocytes) (44), and Cd1d1 (involved in lipid-based antigen presentation to iNKT cells, which play a role in the response to worms) (45) (Fig. 4C). This evidence concerns the gene CCL24 and helminthiasis.
