Interestingly, tyrosine-phosphorylation of Tau has also been reported in human prostate cancer cells (Sangrajrang et al., 1998), and it was previously reported that tyrosine within Tau can be phosphorylated in vitro by the oncogene v-fms, a Src family tyrosine kinase expressed in human histiocytic lymphoma cells (Kim et al., 1991).
