Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have intricate secondary or tertiary spatial structures, enabling complex gene regulation.4 LncRNAs are linked to the development of various tumors, including esophageal cancer, and are useful for its early detection and prognostic assessment.5 LncRNA LUESCC, DGCR5, and LINC00680 have all been shown to mediate the development of esophageal cancer.6-8 The dysregulated ST7-AS1, a novel lncRNA, has been associated with tumor progression. This evidence concerns the gene DGCR5 and esophageal cancer.
