First, a PCA-HCPC revealed that complement factors and the anaphylatoxins C3a and C5a are closely related to the CPB exposure, myocardial ischemia time during aortic cross-clamp and subsequent clinical instability depicted by peak VVR, -VIS, -VI and -OI along with ventilation time and ICU LOS. Here, C3 is linked to myocardial ischemia.
