In 2016, the World Health Organization recognized a new provisional diagnostic entity called “Philadelphia‐like” (Ph‐like) or “BCR::ABL1‐like” ALL, which refers to a subtype of the B‐ALL precursor that, despite presenting a gene signature and molecularly similar to Ph+ ALL, does not present the BCR::ABL1 fusion protein [4, 5, 6]. The gene discussed is ABL1; the disease is acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
