Qiu et al. (2024) found that in a cisplatin (CP)-induced AKI mouse model, intervention with gastrodin (GAS) significantly increased the expression of silent mating type information regulation 2 homolog-1 (SIRT1), indicating that GAS alleviates lipid peroxidation and inhibits ferroptosis in CP-induced AKI mice via the SIRT1/FOXO3A/GPX4 signaling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene FOXO3 and acute kidney injury.
