PCSK9 and hydrops fetalis: The new drugs that have found clinical application are those that act on cardiometabolic factors, i.e., lipid-lowering drugs such as evolocumab (monoclonal antibody against proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9-PCSK9), which is less effective in lowering LDL cholesterol in women than in men, and inhibitors of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) (dapagliflozin and empagliflozin), which also showed less clinical benefit in women with HF than in men [69,71].
