CRP and axial length measurement: Pattynama et al. examined retrospectively 27 patients with post-esophagectomy AL treated with EndoVAC and showed that patients with unsuccessful treatment had higher levels of CRP at AL diagnosis (300 vs. 228 mg/dL) and had larger defects (>40% of anastomosis circumference), but their results did not reach statistical significance mainly due to the small number of included patients [78].
