While we could not demonstrate a statistically significant association between MMP-9 expression and the clinical–pathological parameters studied in glioblastomas, it is noteworthy that MMP-9 expression was more frequently observed in elderly patients; in glioblastomas located in the right hemisphere; in glioblastomas that were IDH1 wild type, ATRX wild type, and p53 wild type; as well as in tumors with lower MVD-CD34 and MVD-CD105. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and glioblastoma.
