The study revealed that two specific SNPs rs8176318 AA, located in the 3′-UTR of the Breast Cancer 1 (BRCA1) gene, predicted to bind to miR-525-5p, and rs8905 GG, which targets the cAMP-dependent protein kinase type I regulatory subunit alpha (PRKAR1A) in miR-214-3p, were significantly associated with the risk of colon cancer (CC) in the United States population [32].
