miR-29c-3p is able to downregulate the BACE1 (beta-secretase 1) gene by activating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, thereby reducing the levels of Aβ1-42 and certain inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α), playing a therapeutic role in the treatment of AD [33]. This evidence concerns the gene BACE1 and Alzheimer disease.
