A study on the ethanol and water extracts of thyme (Thymus vulgaris) showed its effects on the inhibition of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein–ACE2 binding by 82.6 and 86.4%, respectively, which proved that thyme can be used to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection and reduce the complications from the infection [41].
