Interestingly, Nanashima et al. reported that 18% of iCCA patients had their tumor sections stain positive for CD44, while Pongcharoen et al. showed that CD44 was mainly expressed on the plasma membrane of cells at the invasive front areas of CCA, with a significant correlation with poorly differentiated mass-forming type CCA [46,47]. Here, CD44 is linked to infantile convulsions and choreoathetosis.
